School crossing patrol officer, Jean, was made aware of the Macmillan coffee morning hosted by Greenwich Get Walking at the end of September last year. Along with a few of her managers, who were already walk leaders, Jean attended the coffee morning and from there was inspired to get walking herself.
How quickly the year has gone that National Walking Month starts in a week! Run by Living Streets every year, National Walking Month aims to get people out and about, feeling fitter, brighter, connected and feeling the burn, throughout the whole of May.

We are delighted to announce Greenwich Get Walking has been nominated for a Guardian Public Service Award! Delivered by Charlton Athletic Community Trust as part of Greenwich Get Active, the accredited Walking for Health scheme has helped people become more active, after possibly having no experience with exercise at all in the past.
